Description
This wooden frame for Buddha Square is a work of art that combines two old crafts: hand-carving wood and casting metal with Dokra. The seated Buddha was manufactured utilising Bengal’s 4,000-year-old lost-wax process. The surface roughness is similar to that of beeswax modelling and brass casting. The 13-by-13-inch natural wood grain lends warmth to the cast metal relief. This creates a sculpture that appeals to both spiritual devotion and a good sense of elegance.
