Description
This Dokra Durga on Swan shows the goddess in a moment of pure grace, sitting on the swan, which is a sign of purity and discernment in Hindu art. Each curve and ceremonial detail is first sculpted in beeswax and then cast in heated brass alloy using the 4,000-year-old lost-wax casting method from West Bengal. The sculpture, which is 6 by 9 inches and weighs 1.1 kilograms, has the distinctive organic texture of real Dokra art, which is both spiritually meaningful and unique.
